After serving in the United States Army as a decorated combat Infantry officer, John Rupert started his first design firm, Rupert Jensen & Associates, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Through the years, he and his business partner, Ken Jensen, built the company into the largest architectural graphic design firm in the southeastern United States. Their work and reputation took them to most major cities in the United States, and internationally to Saudi Arabia, Cairo, Moscow, Istanbul, and London.
An alumni of Florida State University, John received a BA degree from the School of Design and the School of Business. He also studied at the graduate level at Georgia State University's Design School.
Over the years John received several U.S. design patents, including one for his design of an internationally known and widely used modular signage system, INNERFACE. He has received many awards for his design work including the New York Type Directors Club Award for Design Excellence, the ICSC Design Excellence Award, and four American Corporate Identity Awards. In 1993, John received a Silver Medal from the City of St. Petersburg, Russia for his Entrepreneur Achievements. His work has also been published in several prominent books and periodicals , to include; Architectural Digest, Print Magazine, Communication Arts, Japanese Design, Interiors Magazine, Arabic for Designers, and Architectural Graphics.
John has lectured and presented his work at various university design programs and events including the Georgia Institution of Technology, the American Institute of Architects Annual Convention, and the Society of Architectural Graphic Designers.
When John isn’t busy designing or brainstorming a new idea for John Rupert Design, he can be found cheering on his son, who was the starting quarterback for his high school’s football team, and spending time relaxing with his family in California.

Aliza Rupert, Vice President of John Rupert Design, focuses her attention on marketing and brand development. She is especially honored to be working alongside her father and CEO John Rupert.
Aliza graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a focus in art and business. She draws inspiration from her eclectic background, having explored acting and fitness, fashion and raw vegan food creations. Raised just outside of Washington, DC, she has the speed of a New Yorker and the aspirations of a San Franciscan, thanks to living on both coasts.
When she’s not brainstorming for the next big project for John Rupert Design, studying for her Plant Based Nutrition Certification through Cornell, or traveling, she can be found sipping espresso or a glass of Malbec while writing and blogging about fashion, beauty and health.
James Flores - Senior Designer

James Flores has been with the John Rupert Design Team for over ten years, working as an Assistant to the President, and Senior Designer.
He specializes in computerized design. He is a powerful force in the JRD workplace, and his creative skills have matured significantly over the years. His tireless energy has contributed measurably to the success of all our projects in the last five years.
Mirian Tejada - Design Assistant

Mirian Tejada is a native of Arequipa, Peru. She has lived in the United States for six years, and worked for John Rupert Design for five of the six years. She studied Fashion/Clothing Design at The Instituto de Cayetano Iteredia where she Graduated in 1992.
Ms. Tejada initially started with JRD as a guest designer, but quickly graduated Design Assistant. Her international perspective and cultural diversity have added a nice dimension to the design offerings of John Rupert Design.
