A COLLECTOR'S ITEM

The White House Gifts store recently approached John Rupert Design to create a commemorative coin that would reflect the style and stature of the White House itself.

Content was a fairly easy decision. We chose the southern facade which faces the National Mall and the Washington Monument for the front of the coin and the Presidential seal for the back. The coin is bronze with the official colors assigned the seal.

A good product always requires great packaging, so we created a display card that opens like a book. This gave us more surface area to provide contextual information about the White House, as well as a little bit of drama. What appears to be just a printed card, opens up to reveal a beautiful commemorative coin inside.

“On our visit to Washington, I was touched by my children’s questions about Washington, Lincoln & Roosevelt at their memorials.  I purchased this wonderful coin and gave one to each of them as an emblem of all the great men who have lived in the White House.  They were thrilled by it, and hopefully will pass it on to my grandkids someday.”
